Welcome to Invergordon Museum
We are now officially closed for the season; however our trustees and volunteers are working behind the scenes to prepare for 2026.
We are happy to welcome visitors, with at least 24 hours advance notice. Please Contact us for more information or to arrange a visit.
We will be running some events over the winter period. Please check our facebook page for more details.

Invergordon Museum opened in the former Royal British Legion dance hall in 2004 and has developed steadily over the past two decades. However, the current building and its location present significant challenges, prompting plans to relocate to a more central location within the town. This move would enable the museum to incorporate modern technology and create an enhanced visitor experience.
The proposed new location will also offer increased capacity for community activities and engagement, strengthening connections with community groups, schools and businesses in IV18 and surrounding areas. This initiative seeks to support the revitalisation of Invergordon's town centre by adopting a community-focused strategy to enhance the High Street.
To ensure the project reflects the needs and aspirations of the community as well as the museum, we are actively engaging in community consultation. An online survey is accessible at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/5FGFDGC
Invergordon has a rich history and many great stories to tell. It is deserving of a modern, updated museum to effectively share its heritage with all visitors.
Easily identified by our wall of murals and an 'unexploded mine' from Shore Road, Invergordon Museum is situated in Hayes Hall - the old dance hall of the Royal British Legion - behind the current British Legion building on Invergordon High Street.

From April to October, Invergordon Naval Museum and Heritage Centre is open Monday to Friday, 1pm - 4pm . When there is a cruise liner in port, we open at 10am. At other times, visits are welcome by prior arrangement.
We also have a room which is available for hire and can seat up to 30 people.
The museum is run by the community and opened by volunteers - so your donations are vital in enabling us to open to visitors.
We are always looking for new volunteers to help in the museum. We welcome all ages.
